For the better part of the last decade, finding the PERFECT chocolate chip cookie cookie has become my life mission. I'm not sure I'll ever truly be satisfied. These cookies are as close as I've come. They nearly melt in your mouth and everything instantly becomes peaceful around you. They are that good.
- Preheat oven to 325° and line two baking sheets with parchment paper. In a large bowl, stir melted butter and sugars until fully incorporated. Stir in egg, then stir in vinegar and vanilla.
- In a small bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Add to butter mixture and stir until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips.
- Using a large cookie scoop, scoop dough (about 3 tablespoons) onto prepared baking sheet about 2” apart. Bake until cookies are slightly golden, 12 to 14 minutes.
- Garnish with flaky sea salt before serving.
If you want medium-sized cookies, use a medium cookie scoop (about 2 tablespoons) and bake for 9 minutes.
